Betty Richard Bodin

January 10, 1937 — July 15, 2006

New Iberia- Funeral Services will be conducted for Betty Richard Bodin, Age 69 at 2:00PM Tuesday July 18, 2006 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Father Salvino "Ruben" Primor officiating. Interment will follow in Broussard Cemetery at Bayou Petit Anse. A rosary will be recited at 11:00AM Tuesday at David Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 9:00AM Tuesday till service time. She died at 5:54PM Saturday at a local hospital. Betty was a native and lifelong resident of Iberia Parish. She was a loving mother, sister and Granny . She was owner and operator of M&B fried Chicken in Jeanerette. She enjoyed playing bingo and pokeno. She is survived by her son David Morvant, Sr. of New Iberia, one brother Billy Richard and wife Sidney Mae of New Iberia, her daughter-in-law Jacquelyn Picard Morvant of Loreauville, two grandchildren, Charles and David Morvant, Jr. both of Loreauville and a step grandchild Maureen Dugas of Coteau. She was preceded in death by her parents, Adam and Mildred Bourque Richard, two sisters and one brother, Beverly R. Norman, Judy Richard and Gerald Richard. Pallbearers will be David Morvant, Sr., David Morvant, Jr., Billy Richard, Billy Boi Richard, Raymond Dugas and Greg Melancon. Honorary pallbearers will be Jessie and Nicole Hope, Charles Morvant, Wilbert Escagne, Jr., Charles Picard and Robert Pourciaux. David Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.
