Erath " A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Victor Cheramie, 82, the former Rena Trosclair will be held on Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at 2:00 PM at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in LaRose, LA. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Erath on Tuesday, July 18, 2006 from 10:00 AM until 10:00 PM with a 7:00 PM rosary and will resume on Wednesday, July 19, 2006 from 12:30 PM until time of services at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in LaRose, LA. Interment will follow at Cheramie Cemetery in Galliano, Louisiana.

Ms. Cheramie a native of LaRose and a resident of Erath died Sunday, July 16, 2006 at 5:35 PM at Lafayette General Medical Center. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many. Ms. Cheramie was diagnosed with ALS thirty-five years ago but had a tremendous will to live. Her faith in the Lord and her love for her family kept that will alive.

She is survived by her son, Michael Cheramie of Navarre, Florida; two loving daughters, Tammie Cheramie of Lafayette who has cared for her and dedicated her life for the past fifteen years and Connie Meadows of Lafayette; two brothers Nolan and Larry Trosclair both of LaRose, LA; two sisters, Mabel LeBlanc of LaRose, and Audrey Savoie of Lake Auther; her grandchildren, Melody Theriot of Erath, Tiffani Faulk of Lafayette, Dionne Meadows of Kaplan, Michelle Cheramie of Navarre, Florida, Misti Spivey of Navarre, Florida, Matthew Cheramie of Navarre, Florida, Megan Cheramie of Navarre, Florida, and Klyan Theriot of Lafayette; and her great-grandchildren, Gabrielle Stanford of Erath, Taylor Stanford of Erath, Jacob Faulk of Lafayette, Riley Richard of Kaplan, Landon Richard of Kaplan, Macy Sweeny of Navarre, Florida, Colin Powell of Navarre, Florida, Kyle Spivey of Navarre, Florida, Cody Spivey of Navarre, Florida, and Candice Cheramie of Navarre, Florida.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Victor Cheramie; her parents, Albert Trosclaire and Ida Acosta Trosclair of LaRose, LA; three brothers, Irvin Crip Trosclair, Dudley J. Trosclair, and Claude Trosclair; and one grandchild, Brandon Cheramie.

Family members will serve as Pallbearers.

The family would like to give special thanks to Brenda LeBlanc and Christy Guidry of Concepts of Care Home Health for all the care they have given for the last eleven years, and to all those who shared their time, love, and unending support for the past thirty-five years. A special thanks also to Aundrea Tauzin for the care and love that she gave to Rena.
