Milton " Graveside services for Philip Slug Stewart Beridon, ABOC will be held at St. Josephs Mausoleum at 11:00 AM in Milton on Tuesday, August 1, 2006. Visitation will begin at 3:00PM until 10:00PM on Monday, July 31, 2006 at David Funeral Home of Abbeville. Visitation will resume on Tuesday from 8:00AM until time of services with a recitation of the rosary at 10:30AM.
Mr. Beridon, a native of Hamburg, LA and a resident of Milton died Saturday July 29, 2006 at 2:10PM at his residence. He started in radio at the age of 13 in Marksville, LA at KAPB. Once he moved to Lafayette he worked with several of the local stations. Mr. Beridon was the Great Cypress Lake Jumper, a tradition he started in 1977 which was while he was a student at USL and continued for the next 29 years. He studied Radio and TV with a minor in theatre. He was active with the Abbey Players Theatre, which he served on the Board of Directors, acting, and produced many plays. He retired after 22 years as a State Employee. And he was also a former member of the SCA. One of his favorite passages was, Peace I leave with you; my peace I give unto you; not as the world giveth, do I give unto you. Let not your heart be troubled; nor let it be afraid. John 14:27
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Margie Decou Beridon of Milton; his daughter, Amber Nicole Beridon; his three brothers and their children (whom he loved and adored), O.P. Jay Beridon, Jr. and his wife Judy, and his son Thomas O. Beridon from Cincinnati, Ohio; E.J. Joe Beridon and his wife Linda from Omaha, Nebraska and his children Douglas M. Beridon from Virginia and daughter Angela S. Beridon from Austin, Texas; Mark R. Beridon and his partner C.J. Cass Wyzykowski from Spring, Texas; his sister Marinda Beridon Sherman and her husband Michael Sherman from Baton Rouge and their children Silas A. Sherman and Lorelei E. Sherman ; and his sister-in-law Virginia C. Beridon from Baton Rouge and children Justin C. Beridon also from Baton Rouge and Craig R. Beridon from San Francisco.
He was proceeded in death by his parents O.P. Pete Beridon, Sr. and Shirley M. Haskins, and his brother Robert B. Bob Beridon.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Beridon, Douglas Beridon, Justin Beridon, Craig Beridon, Silas A. Beridon, and David Decou, and Michael Decou.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Glenn Belden, Mark Torrey, Ernest Sieber, Ryan Walker, Conrad Rabalais, Bret Fruge, James Wallace, Mitchell Marty, and Tony Hebert.
The family has requested donations be made to the Abbey Players Theatre and the UL Alumni Association.
David Funeral Home of Abbeville will be handling the arrangements.
