Loving Husband, Father, and Grandfather Jeanerette--A Service of Remembrance for Mr. Donald William Sawyer, 69, of Jeanerette will be held on Wednesday, August 2, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. in David Funeral Home Chapel. Serving as officiant will be the Reverend Don Whatley. Mr. Sawyer passed away after a short illness on Monday, July 31, 2006 at 2:29 P.M. in a New Iberia hospital. A native of Dawson, TX, Mr. Sawyer was a member of Masonic lodges in Jeanerette and Franklin. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and yard work, and he especially enjoyed attending his grandchildrens activities. Mr. Sawyer is survived by his wife, Ruth Evans Sawyer of Jeanerette; daughters, Sondra S. Boudreaux and husband, Tim of New Iberia and Donna S. Gravois and husband, Jimmy of Jeanerette; granddaughters, Miriah Landry of New Iberia, and Bretanie and Dayna Boudreaux, both of Denham Springs; grandsons, Brenden Gravois and wife, Jennifer of Centerville, and Jonathan Gravois and T.J. Boudreaux, both of Lafayette; brother, Joel Sawyer and wife, Carolyn of Mesquite, TX; sisters, Glenna Holladay and husband, Don of Everman, TX and Susie Ivie and husband, Wayne of Bryan, TX; brother-in-law, Harvey Spencer of Waco, TX; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Preceding Mr. Sawyer in death are his parents, Olin C. Sawyer and Bonnie Mildred Lawrence Sawyer; and a sister, Janice Spencer. Named as honorary pallbearers are Brenden Gravois, Jonathan Gravois, T.J. Boudreaux, Hardy Kent, Patrick Napier, Frank Ficarotta, Kline Rentz, and L.C. Dooley. David Funeral Home of Jeanerette is in charge of arrangements.
