Abbeville " " A Funeral Service for Mrs. Dorothy Cook Marie Buras, 74, will be held on Wednesday, August 9, 2006, at 10:00AM at St. Theresa Catholic Church with Father Mayne officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 8, 2006 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M., rosary will be at 7:00 P.M. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, August 9, 2006 from 8:00 A.M. until the time of service. Interment will follow at St. Pauls Cemetery.

Mrs. Buras, a native of Baton Rouge , Louisiana, and a resident of Abbeville, passed away August, 5,2006, at 12:43 P.M., at the Heart Hospital of Lafayette.

She is survived by one son, Michael Louis Maildean of Abbeville; four daughters, Roxie Mire, Lisa B. Hastings, and Anna Barras all of Abbeville; and Dawn B. Rashall, of Midland,Texas; one brother, Louis Cook, Jr. of Baton Rouge, La. two sisters, Charlotte Bernard of Woodbridge, VA.; Annie Weinand of Port St. Lucie, FL.; six grand-children, and four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold J. Buras; her parents, Louis Cook, Sr. and Beatrice Nicholas Cook; one son Jerry Wright; one daughter, Cindy Wright.

Pallbearers will be Brody Meaux, Gerald Guidry,Jr., Gerald Guidry, Sr., Wallace Rashall, Mark Rashall,Sr., and Duke Barras.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Braden Rashall, and Mark Rashall,Jr.

David Funeral Home of Abbeville will be handling arrangements.
