New Iberia.A memorial funeral mass will be celebrated for Mrs. Wayne P. Broussard, Jr. the former Angelle Delcambre, age 38,Wednesday, Sept. 13 at 10:00 AM in the Chapel at David Funeral Home with Rev. Mario Romero, pastor of St. Josephs Catholic church in Loreauville as celebrant.
Visiting hours will be observed Tuesday Sept 12 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM and will resume Wednesday Sept 13 from 8:00 AM until time of services. A rosary will be prayed Tuesday Sept 12 at 6:00 PM in the funeral home.
Mrs. Broussard died Sunday Sept 10, 2006 at 12:20 AM in a New Iberia Hospital. She was a native of Lafayette and a resident of Loreauville. She was employed as an underwriter with Evangeline Life Insurance Company of New Iberia. She was an avid photographer of animals and nature since the 9th grade. She was recognized in the International Library of Photography Contest, earning a Bronze Medal for her animal photography. She received local recognition with a Sweepstakes Award and various awards in the Louisiana Sugar Cane Photography Contest, Lafayette Art Association and Crowley Art Association Juried Competition. Several of her photographs were published in the Louisiana Conversation Magazine. In 2005 her photography earned her recognition in the Louisiana Governors Art Showcase on display in the Governors Mansion for the year. She was one of thirteen Louisiana artists recongnzed in the state.
Angelle was a member of LAcadian Art Guild and participated in the Shadows-on-the Teche Art Sale and the New Iberia Downtown Art Walk. She also enjoyed amateur family photography. She was also a member of a local pokeno Club.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne P. Broussard, Jr. of Loreauville, one son, Patrick Broussard of Loreauville, her parents, Raymond P. Delcambre and Darnelle L. Delcambre of New Iberia, two sisters, Christine Gautreau and her husband Tony of Lafayette and Lori Fowler and husband Mike of New Iberia, one brother, Chad Delcambre and his wife Julie of New Iberia, her father and mother in law, Wayne P. Broussard, Sr. and Betty B. Broussard of New Iberia, four neices, Jennifer Johnson of New Iberia, Allison Romero of Erath , Amber Delcambre of Lafayette,and Kendra Louviere of New Iberia, seven nephews, Justin Gautreau and Tyler Gautreau both of Lafayette, Quincy and Lucas Broussard , Kenneth Louviere, all of New Iberia, Joshua Byrom and Jacob Foreman both Broussard, a step neice Jamie Mannina of Jeanerette andone great niece, Jade Domingue of New Iberia, a brother-in-law, Dean Broussard and his wife Yvonne of New Iberia, two sister in laws, Terri Derouen and her husband Tommy of Jeanerette and Yvette Foreman and her husband Troy of Broussard. Also surviving are grandparents Lorena Clark of Jeanerette and Mazy Bonin of New Iberia
She was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Annette and Charlie LaDouceur, paternal grandfathers, Amilcar Mickie Delcambre and Adam Bonin, and a great nephew Joshua Domingue
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society, the Miles Perret Center for Cancer Services for Acadiana, or the Lydia Cancer Association.
