Melia S. Soirez

Earth - A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Saule Soirez the former Melia Soirez, 98, will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church on Monday, September 25, 2006 at 3:00 PM with Fr. Wayne Duet officiating. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Erath on Sunday, September 24, 2006 from 4:00PM until 10:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume on Monday, September 25, 2006 from 8:00AM until the time of the service. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery.

Mrs. Soirez a native of Vermilion Parish and a resident of Erath died Friday, September 22, 2006 at 5:10PM at an Abbeville nursing home. She loved sewing, cooking, plants, and above all her grandchildren.

She is survived by two sons, Daniel L. and his wife Gloria Soirez of Erath, and Edwin S. Soirez of Erath; a daughter, Delores S. and her husband Walter LeBlanc of New Iberia; a half sister, Ida S. Suire; two daughter-in-laws, Anna and Joyce Soirez; sixteen grandchildren; thirty-eight great grand children; and twenty great great grand children.

She is preceded in death by Her husband, Saule Soirez, Sr.; her parents, Jean M. Soirez and Amanda Boudreaux Soirez; two sons, Curtis J. Soirez, and Saul Soirez, Jr.; four sisters; a grandson, Mark J. Soirez; a great grandson, Scott Pacetti; three daughter in laws, Lorena LeBlanc Soirez, Mathilda Sellers Soirez, Velma Lou Hebert Soirez; and one son in law, Harold Broussard.

Pallbears will be Stewart, Corbet, Justin, Jimmy, and Jude Soirez, and Wade Broussard

David Funeral Home of Erath will be handling the arrangements.
