New Iberia"A funeral service celebrating the life of Marcus Ray Monot, 23, of New Iberia will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2006 at 12:00 P.M. in David Funeral Home Chapel. The Reverend Paul Neel will officiate. Entombment will follow in Holy Family Mausoleum.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 26, 2006 from 11:00 A.M. until service time on Wednesday in David Funeral Home.

Mr. Monot passed away on Sunday, September 24, 2006 at 7:50 P.M. in a local hospital as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Mr. Monot attended First Assembly of God Church. He was a valve technician and project manager at United Process Systems and Supply, where he worked for six years. Mr. Monot was a talented woodworker, and enjoyed listening to music of all kinds while working in his shop. He was an avid motorcycle rider, and had recently taken up fishing as a hobby. His dog, Baby, was very well loved and cared for.

Survivors include his fianc, Priscilla Foley; soon-to-be-born daughter, Angel Lynn Monot; father, Kenneth Monot, Sr. and wife, Gwen; mother, Joylynn Bonin Alleman and husband, Billy; brothers, Shane Monot and wife, Michelle, Chad Monot, Kenneth Monot, Jr., and Lance Monot; sister, Janet Lynn Dupuis; nieces, Lani Monot and Harley Dupuis; nephew and Godchild, Logan Lane Monot; and nephew, Dustin Dupuis, all of New Iberia. Also surviving Mr. Monot are a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives and friends, including his uncle, Troy Bonin and wife, Diane of Oakdale.

Preceding Mr. Monot in death are his uncle, Tommy Lee Cherry; maternal grandmother, Winnie Felps; paternal grandfather, Ossee Monot; and paternal grandmother, Adele Matherne Monot.

Serving as pallbearers are Kenneth Monot, Sr., Shane Monot, Chad Monot, Kenneth Monot, Jr., Lance Monot, Paul Porrier, Terry Richard, and Brian Courville.
