Jeanerette " Funeral Services will be conducted for Jack Carroll Wormser at 11:00 AM Sunday October 8, 2006 at David Funeral Home Chapel with Rabbi Elana Sondel officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00PM to 8:00 PM Saturday and again Sunday from 9:00 AM till time of service. Jack was co-owner of Wormsers of Jeanerette and Wormsers of Lafayette for 40 years. He was a native and lifelong resident of Jeanerette. He graduated from Stanton Military Academy of Stanton, Virginia. He attended Tulane University. He was a past Board Member of the Jeanerette Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Petroleum Club of Lafayette. He was Treasurer of BNai Brich and was Mr. Jeanerette in 1971. He was an annual participant in the Prayer of Peace Kiwanis Club. He was an avid gardener and loved roses. Special thanks to caretakers Lucinda Tillman, Sharon Mitchell, Theresa Wagner, Pam Shelton, Dr. Max La Marche, Dr. Steve Boudreaux and Hospice of Acadiana. Donations can be made in memory of Mr. Wormser to Congregation Gates of Prayer, 1620 Elm Street, New Iberia, La. 70560. Survivors include his wife Carla Weill Wormser of Jeanerette, two daughters, Jennifer Wormser Mestayer and husband Charlie and Rebecca Wormser Burns and husband Rodney, four grandchildren, Leah Comeaux, Jacques Mestayer, Samuel Mestayer and Andrew Comeaux all of Lafayette. He was preceded in death by his parents Joe C. Wormser and Sylvia Marks Wormser and a brother Gerald Wormser. Pallbearers will be Charlie Mestayer, Rodney Burns, Jacques Mestayer, David Wormser, Johnny Wormser, Everette Gouner, Jr. and Robert DeKeyzer. David Funeral Home of Jeanerette is in charge of arrangements.
