New Iberia " Funeral Services will be conducted for Michael Wayne "Mike" Dartez, Age 56; at 10:00AM Friday December 15, 2006 at David Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Neel and Rev. Ross Trahan officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date. Visitation will begin Thursday December 14, 2006 from 4:00PM till 9:00PM and again Friday from 8:00AM till time of service.

A native of Port Arthur, Texas, Michael has been a resident of New Iberia most of his life. He was a painter with Tilden Bonin Painting Contractors for the past 7 years. He was an LSU sports fan and enjoyed movies, stock trading, snow skiing and camping.

Survivors include his sons Ryan M. Dartez and wife Tiffany of Youngsville and Brandon Savoy of New Iberia; his parents Paul Lloyd and Olive Romero Dartez of New Iberia; brothers, Robert Dartez and wife Debbie of Kingwood, Texas and John Pete Dartez and wife Lisa of New Iberia; sisters Elizabeth Arcement, Terry Magar and husband Richard, Ellen Abney and husband Mark, Gwen LeBlanc and husband Kenny and Darla David and husband Richard all of New Iberia and Deena Cook and husband Paul of Prairieville, La. He was preceded in death by a brother James Edward Dartez.

Pallbearers will be Mike Quereau, Kenny LeBlanc, Mark Abney, Richard David, Paul Cook and Richard Magar.
