Phillip Birchfield

Abbeville - Private services will be held at a later date for Phillip M. Birchfield. Mr. Birchfield, a native of Logan, West Virginia and a resident of Kaplan. He was born on June 5, 1941 and went to be with the Lord on January 18, 2007 at 2:30 AM at Abbeville General Hospital in Abbeville, LA. He worked diligently as a manager of a truck stop for many years. He was a man of great character and dignity. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Ballinger Birchfield of Nunez, LA; five stepchildren, Rebecca Powll, Claudia Oaklief, Starr Foote, Jennifer Claypool, and James Claypool; a very special friend, Dalton J. "Pop" Boutte; and a very close friend, Jody Duhan. He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Ethal Birchfield; a bother, Johnny Birchfield; and a sister, Bonnie Joyce.
