New Iberia"A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Rodolph G. Rudy Dugas, Jr., 74, of St. Martin Parish will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 28, 2006 at 3:30 P.M. in Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church. The Reverend Ed Degeyter will serve as celebrant. Entombment will follow in Nativity of Our Lady Mausoleum. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 27, 2006 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. in David Funeral Home, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. Visitation will continue on Tuesday from 8:00 A.M. until service time in the funeral home. Mr. Dugas passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2006 at 5:15 P.M. in a New Iberia hospital. A native of New Orleans and longtime resident of St. Martin Parish, Mr. Dugas was a member of Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church, where he served as an usher for many years. He was a retired marine electrician, and was a member of Woodmen of the World. Mr. Dugas enjoyed hunting and fishing, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Beverly Blanchard Dugas of St. Martin Parish; daughter, Pam Dugas LeBlanc and husband Carl Joe of Erath; granddaughters, Heather and Nikki LeBlanc of Erath; brother-in-law, Carroll Blanchard and wife, Denise of New Iberia; sister-in-law, Grace Heurtevant and husband, Charles of Baton Rouge; and a host of friends. Preceding Mr. Dugas in death are his parents, Rodolph G. Dugas, Sr. and Isabelle Mouton Dugas. Serving as pallbearers are Carl Joe LeBlanc, Chad Darcey, Clay Smith, Steven Smith, Kyle Stevens, and Charles Heurtevant. Named as honorary pallbearers are Carroll Blanchard, Aubrey Bergeron, Melvin Darcey, and Pat Pommier. David Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.
