Loving mother and grandmother JEANERETTE " Services for Mrs. Robert Miguez Jr., the former Rita Maturin, 79, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 12, 2006 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with the Rev. Ed Degeyter officiating, Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours will be observed Monday, December 11, 2006 from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary being recited at 6:30 p.m. at David Funeral Home. Visitation will resume Tuesday, December 12, 2006 at 8 a.m. until the time of service. A native of Iberia Parish and a resident of Jeanerette, Mrs. Miguez died at 1:45 p.m. Saturday, December 9, 2006, at Iberia Medical Center. Mrs. Miguez loved to go fishing and making a big garden. She also did some sharecropping at an early age in Coteau. She loved to play Bingo. Mrs. Miguez enjoyed spending time with her family and cooking for them. She is survived by her three daughters, Sue Derise of Coteau, Lorena Touchet and husband Whitney of New Iberia, and Ruth Broussard of Jeanerette; a son, Gilbert Migues and wife Brenda of Jeanerette; a brother, Anatole Maturin and wife Lucille; two sisters, Althea Gaspard and husband Lovelate, and Alice Dore, all of Coteau; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Miguez was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Miguez Jr.; parents, Gilbert and Anaise Gary Maturin; two sons, Mark and Leonard Migues; a sister, Edna Touchet; and a brother, Jules Maturin. Pallbearers will be Chad Broussard, Kevin Broussard, Mark Touchet, Bruce Broussard, Gilbert Migues and Anatole Maturin. Honorary pallbearers will be Elvis Derise, Leonard and Lane Migues. David Funeral Home of Jeanerette is in charge of the arrangements.
