LOVING MOTHER, GRANDMOTHER, AND GREAT-GRANDMOTHER

New Iberia"A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Harold Romero, the former Marie LeBlanc, 87, of New Iberia will be celebrated on Monday, January 1, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. in Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church on the Teche. The Reverend Steve LeBlanc will serve as celebrant. Entombment will follow in Holy Family Mausoleum.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 31, 2006 from 2:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. in David Funeral Home, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. Visitation will continue on from 8:00 A.M. until service time in the funeral home.

Mrs. Romero passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2006 at 4:45 P.M. in a New Iberia hospital.

A native of Jeanerette and longtime resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Romero was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church on the Teche. She was an avid and accomplished vegetable and flower gardener, and she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mr. Romero is survived by her daughters, Barbara Romero Morrow and Georgia Romero Tauzin and husband, Carl of New Iberia; sons, Charles J. Romero, Sr. and wife, Eva of New Iberia, Odressie J. Romero and wife, Connie of Bossier City, Roland P. Romero and wife, Mary of New Iberia, and Harold P. Romero, Jr. of Bossier City; sisters, Eve Bush of New Iberia and Cecile Olander of Jeanerette; brothers, Antoine LeBlanc of Grand Isle and Whitney LeBlanc and wife, Barbara of New Iberia; and grandchildren, Barrett William Morrow and wife, Lori of Spring, TX, Nicole Tauzin Wier and husband, Robert of Edgewood, NM, Kyle James Tauzin and wife, Janet of New Iberia, Charles J. Romero, Jr. and wife, Lanette of New Iberia, Katie Romero Fernandez and husband, Andy of Trinity, FL, Christopher Scott Romero and wife, Brooke of Shreveport, Casey Romero Harvill and husband, Steve of Shreveport, Jason R. Romero of New Iberia, Gregory Michael Romero of New Iberia, Elliot Romero of Lafayette, and Meghan Romero of New Iberia. Mrs. Romero is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren.

Preceding Mrs. Romero in death are her husband, Harold P. Romero, Sr.; parents, Clement and Clotilde Legnon LeBlanc; sister, Hazel Anderson; and brother, Stanley LeBlanc.

Serving as pallbearers are Stephen Devillier, Charles Romero, Jr., Barrett William Morrow, Christopher Scott Romero, Kyle James Tauzin, Jason Paul Romero, Gregory Michael Romero, and Elliot Romero.

The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Hospice of Acadiana, 2600 Johnston Street, Suite 200, Lafayette, LA 70503.
