Ruth B. Valenti

New Iberia"A funeral service for Mrs. Joseph Valenti, Jr., the former Ruth Helen Britton, 78, of New Iberia will be conducted on Wednesday, January 24, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. in David Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 23, 2007 from 4:00 P.M. until 10:00 P.M. in David Funeral Home, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. Visitation will continue on Wednesday from 8:00 A.M. until service time in the funeral home. Mrs. Valenti passed away on Friday, January 19, 2007 at 11:30 P.M. in a Lafayette hospital. A native of Sarasota and longtime resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Valenti was a hairdresser and onetime owner and operator of her own hair salon. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church and a Past Commander of the Disabled American Veterans Ladies Auxillary. Survivors include her son, Robert Valenti and fianc, Aline Aucoin of New Iberia; grandsons, Hugh and Ian Valenti of New Iberia; and step-granddaughters, Savanna Raffray of Thibodeau and Samantha Raffray of New Iberia. Preceding Mrs. Valenti in death are her husband, Joseph Valenti, Jr.; parents, Hugh Weathers Britton and Delores Brsbane; grandson, Scott Aaron Valenti; and brother, Irvin Britton. Serving as pallbearers Ian and Hugh Valenti, Jody McDonald, Guyton Watkins, Bill Guidry, and Bobby Bowen. David Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.
