Lafayette- A Mass of Christian Burial for Jose Maria Jorajuria, 91, will be held on Friday, December 22, 2006 at 10:30AM at David Funeral Chapel of Lafayette with Fr. Louis Vu officiating. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Lafayette on Friday, December 22, 2006 from 9:00AM until the time of the services. Internment will follow at Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery of Opelousas. Mr. Jorajuria was born in Sabanilla, Cuba and was a resident of Lafayette. He died Wednesday, December 20, 2006 at 6:50AM surrounded by his family. Mr. Jose had to leave Cuba after Castro took rule. He came to the United States through New Orleans with his wife and two children in 1960, he was granted political asylum and began working for Youngs Industry in Youngsville until the mill burned down. After the mill burned he went to work for Sterling Sugar in Franklin until he retired. He is survived by his wife, Eneida Gines Jorajuria, of Lafayette; one son, Ernesto Jorajuria and wife Sueli, of Lafayette; one daughter, Lia J. Williams, and husband Dr. A.E. Williams, of Lafayette; two brothers; Enrique, and Mariano Jorajuria both of Port St. Lucie, Florida; one sister, Eva J. Suarez and her husband Leo, of Miami, Florida. Four Grandchildren; Jose Williams, Barbara Dellinger, and husband Dr. Chester M. Dellinger, Tico Jorajuria and wife Alison, and Lea Guillory, and husband Jonas all of Lafayette; ten Great-Grandchildren, Brannon B J Williams and mother Sue Barry of Grand Coteau; Devon Jorajuria, Jordan Jorajuria, Josh Jorajuria, Patrick Dellinger,Cristina Dellinger, Alexis Guillory, Noah Guillory, Joseph Guillory, and Charlie Guillory all of Lafayette. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jose Maria and Maria Josefa Amat Jorajuria; three brothers; one sister; and a daughter-in-law: Rita M. Jorajuria. Pallbearers will be Brannon Jose Williams, Jose Williams, Dr. Chester M. Dellinger, Tico Jorajuria, Jonas Guillory, Mark Baudoin, Mariano Hernandez,and Teodoro Hernandez. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. A.E. Gato Williams, Adrian M. Vega, Jr., and Florentino Vega. Donations to be made to Hospice of Acadiana 2600 Johnston Street, Lafayette, La. 70508. David Funeral Home of Lafayette will be handling the arrangements.
