Lafayette- Funeral services will be held at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Coteau, LA. on Tuesday, January 9, 2007 at 11 am for Tonia Ann Racca, the former Tonia A. Romero, 42. The Rev. Matthew Higginbotham will conduct the funeral service with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family requests that visitation be observed Monday, January 8, 2007 from 12 noon till 10 pm and continue Tuesday from 8 am till the time of service. A rosary will be prayed Monday evening at 7 pm. Tonia was a native of Coteau, Louisiana, and a resident of Olathe, Kansas. She was born on July 21, 1964 and went to be with the Lord on January 2, 2007 near Texarkana, Arkansas as a result of an automobile accident. Her son, Andre Christopher Racca, 14 died on January 3, 2007 as a result of the same accident. Tonia was a dedicated wife and mother while running a day care center for the past 20 years. She was a very loving care giver and adored all her little children and their families. She was a soccer Mom for Andre and Ariel and managed Ariels soccer team for the past three years and she taught elementary religion at Prince of Peace Catholic Church for five years. Everyone she met befriended her, and in turn she was friends with everyone. Tonia is survived two daughters, Ashley Kristen Racca and Ariel Marie Racca, both of Olahte, Kansas; one son Andre' Christopher Racca of Olahte, Kansas; her ex-husband, Vince Racca of Olathe, Kansas; her mother, Carolyn Lormand Romero of Coteau, LA; a brother Todd Joseph Romero and his wife Wendy Boudreaux of Broussard, LA; a sister , Trina Romero Wilson and her husband Chris of Broussard, LA; one niece Allison Romero; nephews, Brodie Wilson, Brock Romero, Dustin Romero, Brenon Wilson, Brandon Wilson all of Coteau, LA; her paternal grandmother Louise R. Romero of Coteau, LA; three aunts, and three uncles. She is preceded in death by her father, Carlton Joseph Romero, maternal grandparents, Mayonce Lormand and Elizabeth Marie Albert Lormand Guidry; paternal grandfather, Edias Romero, two uncles, Harris Romero, and Frank Bezett, and one aunt, Lortha Lormand.
