MISS TWINKLE New Iberia"A Funeral Service with Holy Communion celebrating the life of Mrs. Merle H. Ruff, the former Matilka Szajko will be held on Monday, January 8, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. in David Funeral Home Chapel. The Reverend Mark McDonald will serve as celebrant, and The Reverend Deacon Diane Moore will serve as homilist. Private inurnment will follow at a later date in Beau Pre Mausoleum. Visitation will be conducted on Monday, January 8, 2007 from 9:00 A.M. until service time in David Funeral Home. Mrs. Ruff passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2007 at 10:05 P.M. in her New Iberia residence. A native of Warren, OH, Mrs. Ruff was a New Iberia resident for over 50 years. Affectionately known to everyone as Twinkle , Mrs. Ruff was the owner of The Little Dance Academy, where she taught for nearly 40 years. She was very active in community theater and music productions, having done choreography and costuming for Iberia Performing Arts League, Community Concert Band, New Iberia Senior High School, and other school productions throughout the New Iberia area. Mrs. Ruff was a longtime faithful member of Episcopal Church of the Epiphany. Survivors include her husband of over fifty years, Merle H. Ruff of New Iberia; daughters, Pat Ruff Langlinais and husband, Norbert Knobbie of Lafayette and Kim Ruff Falcon and husband, Wayne of Lafayette; and grandchildren, Nicholas and Christopher Falcon of Lafayette. Mrs. Ruff will also be missed by a host of close friends. Preceding Mrs. Ruff in death are her parents, Louis and Anna Szajko; and a sister, Ann Vida. Serving as pallbearers are Knobbie Langlinais, Wayne Falcon, Nicholas Falcon, Creed Dugas, Clark Provost, and Dave Wiseman. David Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.
