New Iberia"Funeral services for Mrs. Roy A. Hanks, the former Maudry DeBlanc, 76, will be held on Monday, February 4, 2008 at 3:30 P.M. in David Funeral Home Chapel. The Reverend Ed Degeyter will officiate. Entombment will follow in Holy Family Mausoleum.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 4, 2008 from 11:00 A.M. until service time in David Funeral Home, with a rosary to be recited at 3:00 P.M.
Mrs. Hanks passed away on Saturday, February 02, 2008 at 7:15 A.M. in her New Iberia residence.
A native of Abbeville and longtime resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Hanks was married to Roy A. Hanks from 1946 until his death in 1977. She was married to Frank LeBlanc of Coteau in 1979.
Survivors include her daughter, Cheryl Kay Hanks Lipari and husband, Luke of New Iberia; son, Randy James Hanks of Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren, Tommy A. Lipari of New Iberia, Mary Kay Lipari Snellgrove of New Iberia, Lucas R. Lipari of New Iberia, and Lauren E. Hanks of New Iberia; great-grandchildren, Halee Snellgrove, Grace Snellgrove, Cade Lipari, Macy Lipari, Caroline Lipari, Hayes Lipari, Jordan Beuhler, and Ian Beuhler, all of New Iberia; and a sister, Ena D. Trahan of Lafayette.
Preceding Mrs. Hanks in death were her husband, Roy A. Hanks; parents, Andrew and Ella Hargrave DeBlanc; granddaughter, Angela Marie Lipari; sisters, Eunice Montet, Alma Hebert, and Mary Hebert; and brother, Guy DeBlanc.
Serving as pallbearers are Luke J. Lipari, Tommy A. Lipari, Lucas R. Lipari, Dr. Boyd Snellgrove, Ryan Case, and Randy J. Hanks.
