Erath - Madeline V. Landry, 83, of Erath, passed away at 1:15 PM Wednesday, January 25, 2006, in a Lafayette hospital. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 PM Friday, January 27, 2006, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, in Erath, with Rev. Wayne Duet as the Celebrant. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday, from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM at David Funeral Home, in Erath. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM Thursday. Visitation will continue Friday from 9:00 AM until time of service. Born on July 22, 1922, in Delcambre, Mrs. Landry is the daughter of Laurent and Ursule Trahan Viltz. A hairdresser for several years, she enjoyed reading, and was a member of the Ladies Altar Society. Survivors include her husband, Edwin Landry of Erath; children, Judy Alleman and husband Clifton Alleman, Jr. of Abbeville, Sondra Hughes and husband Robert A. Hughes of Abbeville, and Joey Landry of Youngsville; sister, Dorothy V. Dugas of New Iberia; sister-in-law, Annie Lou Viltz of Delcambre; cousins, Whitney and Thelma Gautreaux of New Iberia; grandchildren, Dana A. Gomez of Abbeville, Aliecia A. Elias of Abbeville, Nicole Renee Alleman of Baton Rouge, Jenee Elizabeth Alleman of Abbeville, Troy Aaron Landry of Milton, Robby A. Hughes of Abbeville, Ashlie Elise Hughes of Abbeville, Aaron Ross Landry of Youngsville; great grandchildren, Benjamin Alleman Gomez, John-Michael Elias, and Alex Michael Hughes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Aaron Paul Landry; a granddaughter, Claire Elizabeth Hughes; sisters, Nela Belanger, Pearly Segura, Nilta Toups; brothers,Doris Bourque, Preston Viltz and Nelson Viltz.
