Jeanerette " Funeral services will be conducted for Wilson D. Black Legnon, 89, on Monday, Feb. 4, 2008 at 3:00 PM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Jody Simoneaux officiating. Interment will follow in Beau Pre Memorial Park Mausoleum with Military Graveside Rites conducted by V.F.W. Post 1982 Honor Guard of New Iberia. Visitation will begin on Monday, Feb. 4, 2008 at 9:30 AM until services and a rosary will be prayed in the funeral home at 1:30 PM. A native and lifelong resident of Jeanerette, Mr. Legnon retired after 45 years of employment at Bayou Welding Works. He was a Veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Navy. He is survived by his son, Kenny Legnon and his wife Laurie of Lafayette; his granddaughters, Renee Legnon Richards and her husband Brad, Dr. Lindsay Ann Legnon all of Lafayette, Joni Legnon Renard and her husband Nathan, Jami Legnon and Jena Legnon Meaux all of New Iberia; his grandsons, Frank Legnon and his wife Stephanie of New Iberia and David Legnon of Lafayette; his great grandchildren, Landon T. Richards of Lafayette, Taylor and Andre Renard, Drake and Casey Meaux, Isabella and Jacob Legnon all of New Iberia; his step-granddaughter, Jennifer Wright of New Iberia and his step-great granddaughter, Celia Wright of New Iberia. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Sanders Legnon; his parents, Henry Darius Legnon and Lena Veazey Legnon; his son, Frank Legnon and his brother, Elton Legnon.
