Lafayette " A Funeral Service for Mr. Bartiste J. Romero, 88, will be held on Friday, January 26, 2007 at 10:00AM at David Funeral Home Chapel of Lafayette with Fr. Louis Vu officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2007 from 4:00PM until 9:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume on Friday, January 26, 2007 from 8:00AM until the time of the services. Interment will follow at St. Annes Mausoleum. Mr. Romero a native and resident of Youngsville died Wednesday, January 24, 2007 at 3:30PM at a Lafayette hospital. He was a share cropper until 1957, worked at Bruces Foods for over 16 years, and then spent his final two years before retiring as a carpenter. He was proud of his accomplishments in life having served in the Air Force during WWII, then he went from a share cropper to owning his own home, where he raised his only son Wilson. He is survived by his wife, Edmae Faulk Romero of Youngsville; a son, Wilson and his wife Theresa Romero of Napoleonville; three grandchildren, Sierra Lynn Romero of Abbeville, Joshua Barr, and Matthew Gaspard of Napoleonville; and three great grandchildren, Eygpt Brown, Damian Brown, and Summer Smith all of Abbeville. He is preceded in death by his parents, Odilon and Odilia Ollier Romero; a granddaughter, Bernadette Romero Brown; six brothers, Joseph, Odressie, Adam, Dedier, Ferjus, and Edward Romero, Sr.; and four sisters, Editha Maturin, Eva Maturin, Marie Romero, Eve Boutte. Pallbearers will be Wilson Romero, Charles Ray Romero, Edward Romero, Jr., Harris Romero, Darrel Brown, and Jesse Faulk. David Funeral Home of Lafayette will be handling the arrangements
