Loving Father, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather

Jeanerette " Funeral services will be conducted for Mr. John Derise, Jr. Age 91 at 1:00PM Wednesday February 28, 2007 at St John The Evangelist Catholic Church with Fr. Mark Derise officiating. Interment will follow in Beau Pre Mausoleum. Mr. Derise died Sunday February 25, 2007 at 10:14 PM in a Lafayette Hospital.

Visiting hours will be observed Tuesday February 27, 2007 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and will resume Wednesday February 28, 2007 from 8:00 AM until time of services. A rosary will be prayed Tuesday February 27, 2007 at 6:30 PM. in the funeral home.

Mr. Derise was a native of Jeanerette and had been a resident of Lafayette for the past 12 years.

Mr. Derise was employed as a machinist for the St Mary Sugar Co-Op for 40 years. He was also employed for the Moresi Foundry for 15 years prior to going to St. Mary.. He enjoyed being with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was an usher at St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church. He was an avid Atlanta Braves Fan. The family wishes to give special thanks to Nicole and David Branchini and Louann Thomas for their loving care.

Mr. Derise is survived by Daughters Gertrude Chaney and her husband Lynn of Lafayette and Betty Faulk of Youngsville, Grandchildren, Pamela Broussard and her husband Richard, David Chaney and his wife Debbie, Troy Chaney, Kerri LeBouef all of Lafayette and Terri Faulk of Rayne, Great Grandchildren, Daniel and Haley Broussard , Logan and Madison Chaney and Hunter Faulk all of Lafayette, Payton LeBouef of Houma and Tyler Faulk of Rayne, Special Grandchildren, Louann and Brent Thomas and Nicole and Sarid Bianchini both of Lafayette, Special Great Grandchildren, Lauren Thomas, Tyler Thomas, Erin Thomas, Lea Thomas, Avery Thomas ,Cailey Bianchini and Micah Bianchini all of Lafayette, her sisters, Rita Mae Aucoin of Patterson and Laura Barras of Metairie. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Bourque Derise, his parents John Derise, Sr. and Josephine Legnon Derise, his brothers Amos Derise, Sr., Pierre Derise, Sr., Emile Derise, George Derise, Paul Derise, and Charles David Derise and sisters, Lucille Picone, Margaret Crappel and Mary Jane Marie Rivette..

Serving as pallbearers will be Troy Chaney, David Chaney, Daniel Broussard, Richard Broussard, Brent Thomas and Sarid Bianchini.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Madio Guillotte, Ronald Possum Guillotte and Chuck Rodriguez.
