New Iberia-A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Waldo Nook Bonin, the former Delores Delahoussaye, 74, of New Iberia will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 8, 2006 at St. Peter Catholic Church with Father Jude Halphen serving as celebrant. Interment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery. Visitation will be held in David Funeral Home of New Iberia on Tuesday, February 7, 2006 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. Visitation will continue on Wednesday from 9:00 A.M. until service time. Mrs. Bonin passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2006 at 6:46 P.M. in a New Iberia hospital. A native of Erath, Mrs. Bonin was a longtime resident of New Iberia. For over 50 years, she and her husband owned and operated Bonin's Quality Meats, which is known worldwide for its tasty boudin. Mrs. Bonin was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church. Survivors include her husband, Waldo Nook Bonin of New Iberia; daughters, Anna and Melissa Bonin of New Iberia; brothers, John Delahoussaye of New Iberia and Dulius Delahoussaye, Jr. of Florida; sister, Murlene Leitner of New Iberia, and a grandson, Emile Legendre of New Iberia. She is preceded in death by her parents, Dulius Delahoussaye, Sr. and Noelie Robert Delahoussaye; and a sister, Barbara Delahoussaye. Serving as pallbearers will be friends and family of Mrs. Bonin.
