Lafayette - Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 22, 2006 at 11 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milton for John W. Touchet, 63. John was born on January 9, 1943 in Youngsville and went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 19, 2006 at 4:05 PM at Lafayette General Medical Center. The Rev. Randy Barras will conduct the funeral Mass. Interment will follow the funeral mass at St. Joseph Church Mausoleum. The family requests the visitation be observed on Tuesday, February 21, 2006 from 10:30 AM till 9 PM and continue Wednesday, from 8 AM till time of service. A rosary will be prayed Tuesday evening at 7 PM by Deacon Cody Miller. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Lafayette. John worked diligently for many years with the Lafayette Parish Sheriffs Department. He was also a member of the 1961 graduating class of Youngsville High School. He is survived by his loving wife, Judy Breaux Touchet of Youngsville; two sons, Chris Touchet and his wife Becky of Maurice, LA, and Nicholas Touchet and his wife Victoria Linsley of Moss Point, Miss.; a daughter, Shirley Pellerin and her husband Jerry of Youngsville, LA; a sister, Isabelle Melancon and her husband Norman of Broussard; his grandchildren, Jackie Pellerin, Jennie Pellerin, Jesse Pellerin, Christin Touchet, Koby Touchet, Zoey Touchet, one great grandchild, Elizabeth Ann Pellerin, and a grandchild to be, Jazzmyne Nichole. His preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Mire, his father, Rudolph Touchet, his mother, Alice Ada Decou Touchet, and a brother Rudolph Touchet, Jr. The family would like to express a special word of gratitude to Dr. Debra Johnson and her staff, and to the nurses and doctors of Lafayette General Medical Center for their dedicated service and compassion with which they treated Mr. John. Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Touchet, Nicholas Touchet, Jesse Pellerin, Isaac Smith, Donald Hebert, and Ronnie Broussard. Honorary pallbearer will be Koby Touchet. David Funeral Home of Lafayette is in Charge of arrangements.
