New Iberia"Funeral services for Mrs. Norald F. Tingler, the former Ruby Ellis, 72, of New Iberia will be held on Friday, April 14, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. in David Funeral Home Chapel. The Reverend Noah Langley will officiate. Interment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 13, 2006 from 3:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. in David Funeral Home, and will continue on Friday from 8:00 A.M. until service time. Mrs. Tingler died on Wednesday, April 12, 2006 at 4:15 A.M. in her New Iberia residence. A native of DeQuincy, Mrs. Tingler was a longtime resident of New Iberia. She loved to travel, having made trips to Branson, MO, Biloxi, MS, Carlsbad, NM, and Gatlinburg, TN, among others. She and her late husband had a camp at Toledo Bend Lake, where she enjoyed relaxing and reading. She was an avid reader and craftmaker. Mrs. Tingler enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include her daughter, Frances Ann Tingler and fianc, Westley Bourque of New Iberia; sisters, Mildred (Mickey) Ellis of San Antonio, TX, Edith Garza of Sulphur, Bobbie Mericle and husband, Don of DeQuincy, Carolyn Sue Doherty and husband, James of DeQuincy, and Peggy Ann Planas and husband, Gabriel of Jasper, TX; sisters-in-law, Verna Ray Ellis of DeQuincy and Rita Lemaire of Cut Off; brothers-in-law, Roy Tingler of St. Louis, MO and Edmond Tingler of West Palm Beach, FL. Mrs. Tingler is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Preceding Mrs. Tingler in death are her husband, Norald F. Tingler; parents, Henry and Susie Lusk Ellis; brother, James William Ellis; and brothers-in-law, Alex Garza and Henry Tingler. Serving as pallbearers are friends and family of Mrs. Tingler. The family has asked that memorial donations be made to Hospice of Acadiana. David Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.
