New Iberia " Funeral Services will be conducted for Mr. Jemy John J.C. Plaisance, Age 83 at 3:00 PM Friday Feb. 24, 2006 at David Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ed Degeyter officiating . A native of Thibodeaux Mr. Plaisance has been a resident of New Iberia for many years. He died Tuesday Feb. 21, 2006 at a local hospital. Visitation will begin Friday Feb. 24, 2006 from 1:30PM until service time. He was a retired Sr. drilling superintendent with Exxon / Mobil for 43 years. He was a member of Masonic Lodge Aurora 193 F&AM . The members will be conducting a service at 2:30PM Friday in the funeral home chapel. Mr. Plaisance was a veteran of WWII having served in the U.S. Marines aboard the USS West Virginia. For many years he was a beekeeper in the local community. He is survived by two daughters and two sons ; Ruth Haney and husband Douglas of Houston, Texas ; Westmoreland Plaisance and wife Terry of New Orleans ; Jeanne Plaisance and husband Daniel Phillips of Lafayette and Jemy Clifford Plaisance of Pineville. Two sisters Rita Cavallino of Metairie and Stacey Thibodeaux of Marrero. A half sister Genevieve Ambrozewski of Chalmette. He has six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren . He was preceded in death by his father and mother Lawrence J. Plaisance and Eve Fremin Plaisance and a brother and sister Lawrence J. Plaisance, Jr. and Aleta Molinary. In lieu of flowers donations are preferred to the Salvation Army. David Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.
