New Iberia - Funeral Services for John William Angers, Sr., age 69, will be conducted at 1:00 pm Thursday, November 20, 2008 at David Funeral Home Chapel with Fr. Charles Langlois officating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visiting hours will be observed Wednesday, November 19, 2008 from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm, with a rosary being recited at 7:00 pm and will reopen Thursday, November 20, 2008 at 8:00am until services. A native and residence of New Iberia, Mr. Angers died at 3:00 am Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at a New Iberia hospital. Mr. Angers was Owner and Operator of Angers Consulting Engineering for 20 years. He was Chairman of the American Welding Society for 20 years, a Registered Professional Engineer, worked for J & L Honiron, and Pratt & Whitney Aircraft. He is survived by his wife, Diane Laperouse Angers of New Iberia; son, John William Billy Angers, Jr. and his wife Nicole of Erath; daughter, Stephanie A. Lassalle and her husband Mike of New Iberia; sister, Geraldine Angers of New Iberia; 3 grandchildren, Johnathon Angers, Brandy Angers and Gabrielle Lassalle; step-son, Tommy Moss and his wife Heather of Denton, Texas; step-daughters, Stephanie Reich and her husband Greg of Slidell, Michelle Miholic and her husband Vincent of New Iberia and Lisa Penny and her husband Steve of Wenatchee, Washington; and 13 step-grandchildren. Mr. Angers was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard J. and Iola Moss Angers; his brother, Leonard Angers, Jr.; and sister, Lois Reddoch.
