Abbeville " Services for Mr. Johnny Frank Davis, 79, will be held at David Funeral Home Chapel of Abbeville, at 2:00PM, Tuesday, July 21, 2009 with Rev. Pres Riley officiating. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Abbeville on Tuesday, July 21, 2009 from 11:00AM until the time of the services. Interment will follow at St. Paul Cemetery. Mr. Davis, a native of Monticello, Mississippi was a resident of Abbeville for forty-five years. He was currently living in Katy, Texas when he passed away Sunday, July 19, 2009 at 4:32AM at Spanish Meadows of Katy Nursing and Rehab Center in Katy, Texas. Johnny was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family. Mr. Davis served his country in the Army from 1951 to 1955 during the Korean War and was a retired Drilling Consultant in the oilfield. Survived by his wife, Frances Beasley Davis of Katy, Texas; one daughter, Brenda D. Motty and her husband Henry of Katy, Texas; two sons, Johnny Frank Davis, Jr. and his wife Annette Davis of Abbeville, and Jerry Davis and his wife Joannah of Erath; ten grandchildren, Adrienne Motty Melancon of Abbeville; Henry Brandon Motty of Katy, Blaire Frances Motty of Katy, Phallon D. Guidry of Abbeville, Brianna Morgan Davis of Abbeville, Julian Frank Davis of Abbeville, Jillian Frances Davis of Abbeville, Nicole D. DesOrmeaux of Erath, Michelle Frances Davis of Erath, and Gabrielle Elise Davis of Erath; five great grandchildren, Mason Henry Melancon, Adelyn Ruth Melancon, Jacob Paul Guidry, and Maddox Cooper Guidry all of Abbeville and Libby Tyler DesOrmeaux of Erath. Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, John Bedford Davis and Lula Albritton Davis; one brother and three sisters. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
