Calvin Joseph Rhodes

Loving Husband and Devoted Friend New Iberia " Memorial services will be conducted for Calvin Joseph Rhodes, 87, on Saturday, January 17, 2009 at 1:00 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehova Witness at 1401 Marjie St. in New Iberia. A native of Little Callieu, LA and a resident of New Iberia, Mr. Rhodes died on Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at 2:15 PM in a New Iberia hospital. He was a retired boat captain and was employed with Galaxie Marine for over 50 years. He loved fishing and planting fruit trees. He is survived by his wife, Marie Hazel Veazy Rhodes of New Iberia; his sons, William Bill Rhodes of Honolulu, Hawii and Willie Butch Rhodes of Louisiana; his daughters, Mona Rhodes of Houma and Louise Rhodes of Flordia; his step-sons, Allen Dale Mattiews of Patterson and Michael Leon Borton of New Iberia; his step-daughter, Deborah Kay Franz of New Iberia and his sister, Delores Gusman of Morgan City. He was preceded in death by his parents, Justillain and Clotiel Toups Rhodes; his brothers, Anthony, Nolan and William Rhodes and his sisters, Elda Rhodes and Loraina Blanco.
