New Iberia"Funeral services for Mrs. Charles Harry Haynes, the former Hazel Railey, 93, of New Iberia will be held on Tuesday, April 4, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. in David Funeral Home Chapel. The Reverend Ed Downs will officiate. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 3, 2006 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. in David Funeral Home. Visitation will continue on Tuesday from 8:00 A.M. until service time in the funeral home. Mrs. Haynes died on Saturday, April 1, 2006 at 3:55 P.M. in a New Iberia care facility. A native of Logansport, LA, Mrs. Haynes was a longtime resident of New Iberia. She was a member of First Baptist Church of New Iberia, where she served as a Sunday School teacher. She was a past member and director of W.M.U. Survivors include her sisters, Mrs. J.S. (Jewel Marie) Poteet of Washington, D.C. and Mrs. H.H. (Opal) Briley of Marrero, LA. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, as well as a host of friends. Preceding Mrs. Haynes in death are her husband, Charles Harry Haynes; parents, Charles Cleveland Railey and Myrtle Fletcher Railey; sister, Mrs. O.W. (Tula) Widick; and brother, Clarence T. Railey. David Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.
