New Iberia - Graveside services will be conducted on Saturday, March 11, 2006 at 1:00 PM for Ovi J. Rouly at Holy Family Cemetery with Fr. Charles Langlois officiating. He died Thursday, March 2, 2006 at 1:50 PM at The Heart Hospital Of Lafayette. A native of New Iberia, he was a resident of Hobbs, New Mexico for many years where he owned and operated Rouly, Inc. until his retirement in July 2001. He was a Merchant Marine from 1943 thru 1947 and a veteran having served in the U.S. Army and fought in the Korean War from September 26, 1950 to September 26, 1952. He was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling, and spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his beloved wife, Eve Dupuy Rouly, a son, Ovi Chris Rouly and his wife Lillian Lea Rouly , two grandsons, Ovey Etienne and Jean Michel Rouly of McLean, Virginia, Step Children, Adriane Robbins and Hale Boudreaux and his wife Sandra Landry Boudreaux, step grandchildren Timothy and Sean Naquin, Deborah Robbins, Allison and Brian Boudreaux and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Rouly was preceded in death by his parents Ovey and Lennie Bodin Rouly, three sisters, Lucy Mae Rouly Chrisofferson, Marie Gertrude Rouly Staton and Mary Lou Rouly Sikes, one brother, John P. Rouly, his first wife , Barbara Jacob Rouly, two half Brothers, Otto J. Rouly and Otis J. Rouly, and two half sisters Enola Rouly Barrilleaux and Electa Rouly Schexnayder. Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Roulys name to American Heart Association at SE Affilate,Inc 312 Guilbeau Rd Lafayette, LA 70506 or Cancer Association of Iberia Parish at 2103 Warwick, New Iberia, LA 70560. Mr. Roulys family will receive guests immediately following the graveside services at Peltiers on Lewis Street. David Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.
