View Video Tribute Abbeville- A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Francis E. Meaux, the former Jeannette Arpin, 77, will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2007 at 11:00AM at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church with Fr. Glenn Meaux officiating. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Abbeville on Thursday, February 1, 2007 from 4:00PM until 10:00PM and then on Friday, February 2, 2007 from 8:00AM until 10:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will continue on Saturday, February 3, 2007 from 8:00AM until the time of the services. Interment will follow at St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery. Mrs. Meaux, a native of Jefferson Island and a resident of Abbeville, died Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at 5:50AM at her residence. She was a registered nurse and retired from the Louisiana State Health Unit after 30 years. She is survived by her husband, Francis E. Meaux of Abbeville; two sons, Wayne Meaux of Lake Charles and Kevin Meaux of Abbeville; one daughter, Francine Elliott and her husband Jerry of Many; a sister, Winnie Landry of Groves, TX; two granddaughters, Stoni Meaux and Gabrielle Ann Meaux of Abbeville; four grandsons, Bruce Meaux and his wife Ashley of New Iberia, Ian Elliott, Dillon Elliott and Kyle Elliot of Many; two great grandsons, Logan Meaux and Peyton Manual Pereida; and two great granddaughters, Mallory Meaux and Natalie Pereida. She was preceded in death by her father, Gerard Arpin; her mother, Edna Badon Arpin; three brothers, Larry Arpin, Floyd Arpin, and Alvin Arpin; Five sisters, Pearl Arpin, Lulia Montet, Lelia LaBiche, Goldie Falgout and Beatrice Castinie. Pallbearers will be Wayne Meaux, Bruce Meaux, Rodney Landry, Rodney Broussard, Bobby Falgout, and Kevin Meaux. Donations may be made in memory of Jeanette A. Meaux to the American Lung Association of Louisiana, 2325 Severn Ave., Suite 8, Metairie, Louisiana, 70001, or the National Jewish Medical and Research Center, 1400 Jackson St., Denver, CO, 80206. David Funeral Home of Abbeville will be handling the arrangements.
