New IberiaFuneral services will be conducted for Mrs. Verna Richard Louviere (Gary), age 87, at 3:00 PM on Sunday August 23, 2009 at St Peters Catholic Church with Fr. Charles Langlois officiating. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery in Erath, La. A rosary will be prayed in the Funeral Home on Saturday August 22, 2009 at 7:00 PM. Mrs. Gary passed away Thursday August 20, 2009 at 5:40 PM upon arrival at a local hospital. Mrs. Gary was a native of Erath and a resident of New Iberia. She retired as a telephone operator with South Central Bell after 34 years of service. She was a member of The Telephone Pioneers of America.Mrs. Gary is survived by a son, Rodney Louviere, Sr. and his wife Wanda of New Iberia; Her grandchildren, Regina L.Hindelang of Carencro, Kimberly L. Guthrie and her husband Robbie of New Iberia, Crystal Louviere of Lafayette and Rodney Louviere, Jr. of Carencro; her great grandchildren, Collyn Guthrie and Cortlyn Guthrie both of New Iberia; and one sister Frances Breaux of Houston, Texas.Mrs. Gary was preceded in death by her first husband Oliver Louviere, her second husband Ellis Gary, her sisters Eunice Bourque, Effie Gary, and Theola Richard and her brothers, Ophie Richard and Edwin Richard.Pallbearers will be John Aldridge, Jimmy Lavergne, Tommy Thompson, Brandon Solomon, Brett Solomon, and Cayden Thompson.Honorary pallbearers will beRandy Taylor, Gene Thompson, Michael Breaux, Wayne Breaux and Rodney Louviere, Jr. The family is requesting visiting hours Saturday August 22, 2009 from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM and will resume Sunday August 23, 2009 from 9:00 AM until time of services.
