New Iberia...Funeral Services will be conducted Monday April 10, 2006 at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church for Richard P. "Ricky" Dartez, age 62. Private interment at a later date. Fr. Steve LeBlanc, pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church will officiate. Visiting hours will be observed Sunday April 9, 2006 from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Visitation will resume Monday April 10, 2006 at 8:0 AM until time of services. A rosary will be prayed Sunday April 9, 2006 at 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Mr. Dartez died Friday April 7, 2006 at 2:55 AM in a Lafayette Hospital. He was a past member of the New Iberia Jaycees. Ricky was an excellent baseball player and later in life became an avid tennis player. He was inducted into the N.I.R.D. Hall of Fame. He is survived by his mother Juanita Leblanc Dartez of New Iberia. A son Ty Dartez and wife Stacy of New Iberia. Two daughters, Tracy D. McGahhey of New Iberia and Shari D. Ransonet and husband Chuck of Loreauville. One brother and one sister Ronnie Dartez of New Iberia and Pearl D. Williams of Slidell,La. Three grandsons, Marcus Tyler McGahhey, Logan Taylor McGahhey and Hayden Reece Dartez all New Iberia. His Companion, Virginia Harrington of Lafayette. He was preceded in death by his father Norbert Dartez. Pallbearers will be Art Mazerole, Gerald Faulk, Mike Blanchard, Jimmy Robicheaux, Ronnie Dartez and Julian Buteau. Honorary pallbearers will be Allen Breaux, David BReaux, Randy Breaux, Square Hengens, Eric Faulk and Pliny Walet. David Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of funeral arrangements.
