New Iberia"Funeral services for Jordan Joseph Bonin, 11, of New Iberia will be held on Friday, May 12, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The Reverend Steve LeBlanc will officiate. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2006 from 11:00 A.M. to 10:00 P.M. in David Funeral Home, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. Visitation will continue on Friday, May 12, 2006 from 8:00 A.M. until service time in the funeral home. Jordan passed away on Monday, May 8, 2006 at 5:08 A.M. in a Houston, TX hospital. A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Jordan was a member of the Catholic faith. He was in the third grade at Acadiana Christian Academy, where he loved attending and being with friends and teachers. Jordan enjoyed spending time outdoors and helping his father work in the yard. He was a compassionate friend to his dogs and cats, and his hobbies included collecting Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokemon, and wrestling cards and figures, playing video games, and watching cartoons and wrestling on television. Jordan was a unique child who will be missed by all who knew him. Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin John (Sarah Melancon) Bonin, Jr. of New Iberia; brother, Jeremy Paul Bonin of New Iberia; paternal grandmother, Joann Bonin of New Iberia; paternal step-grandfather, John McGee of New Iberia; step-grandmother, Patricia Bonin of New Iberia; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Antoine (Doris) Melancon, Sr. of St. Martinville; aunts, Cheryl Bonin of New Iberia, Angie Noel and husband, Raymond of Parks, Sandy Saucier and husband, James of Erath, Shelia Gonzalez of New Iberia, Mary Ann Melancon of St. Martinville, and Jean Boudreaux and husband, Gary of Parks; uncles, Johnny and Kirk Bonin of New Iberia, Michael Melancon and wife, Janet of Parks, Antoine Melancon, Jr. and wife, Jackie of Broussard, and Paul Melancon and wife, Cathy of St. Martinville; very best friend, Bailey Buteau and his parents, Edward and Deborah Buteau; teacher, Diane Landry; and numerous cousins and a host of friends. Serving as pallbearers are Bailey Buteau, Trent Pellerin, Sean Tullier, and Shayd Saucier. David Funeral Home of New Iberia has been entrusted with arrangements.
