New Iberia"Funeral services for Mrs. Santive Larive, the former Edia Marie Lopez, 89, of New Iberia will be held on Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at 10:00 A.M. in David Funeral Home Chapel. The Reverend Richard Fabre will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Nicholas Cemetery, Patoutville. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 17, 2006 from 4:00 P.M. until 10:00 P.M. in David Funeral Home, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. Visitation will continue on Tuesday from 8:00 A.M. until service time in the funeral home. Mrs. Larive passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2006 at 2:30 A.M. in a local care facility. A native of St. Martinville, Mrs. Larive was a longtime resident of the Lydia area before moving to New Iberia in 1987. She was affectionately known as Aunt Tee to those closest to her. Though childless, Mrs. Larive raised two brothers and two nieces, and she loved children and would not turn away anyone in need. Survivors include her brothers, Joseph Lopez and wife, Dorita of Coteau, Clemire Lopez, Jr. and wife, Hilda of Jeanerette, and Gene Lopez and wife, Gloria of New Iberia; sisters, Verna Mae Myers of Coteau, Lena Boudreaux and husband, Bee of Maurice, Lucy Dugan and husband, Charles of New Iberia, and Dorthy Migues of St. Martinville; sisters-in-law, Mildred Lopez of Lydia, and Linda Louviere and husband, Melvin of Irving, TX; brothers in law, Justin Larive of Jeanerette and Lionel Larive and wife, Esther of New Iberia; special nieces, Peggy Morris and husband, Richard of Royse City, TX and Helen Lester and husband, Robert (Bob) of Lydia; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Preceding Mrs. Larive in death are her husband, Santive Larive; brother, Sylvester Lopez; and sisters, Mary Bonin, Bertha Valenti, and Camilla Charpentier. Serving as pallbearers are Richard Morris, Robert Bob Lester, Lad Lester, R.J. Lester, Brian Lester, and Chantelle Landry. David Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.
