Frank Joseph Alfano Put Loving Father and Grandfather New Iberia " Funeral services for Mr. Frank Alfano, 75, of New Iberia will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peters Catholic Church. Father Charles will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Peters Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 18, 2006 from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 19, 2006 from 8:00 a.m. until service time in David Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Mr. Alfano passed away Easter morning at 7:30 with his family at his side. A native of New Iberia, Mr. Alfano was a master bricklayer. He enjoyed gardening and woodworking. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps having served in the Korean Conflict. There will be military graveside rights conducted by the United States Marine Corps. Survivors include his son, Tan Joseph Alfano and daughters, Pamela Alfano Guiberteau, Gerayne Alfano Leon, Tina Alfano Poirrier, Lana Kay Alfano and their mother Elaine Starks, all of New Iberia. He is also survived by daughters, Christine Alfano Jones and Jennifer Alfano and their mother, Rosita Arce of North Carolina. Mr. Alfano was grandfather to Chuck Norman Alfano, Jude Guiberteau, Natalie Guiberteau, Haley Elaine Guiberteau, Nicholas Alfano, Valery Elaine Alfano, Andrew Paul Broussard, Kaleb Paul Leon, Abby Beatrice Babineaux, Camille Elizabeth Gondron, Julia Kay Smelley, Dylan Michael Smelley, all of New Iberia, Isabella Jones, Adrianna Jones, of North Carolina, Trey Norman Alfano, Lanie Alfano, Trevor Alfano, Titus Norman Alfano and Thadeus Roy Alfano of Franklin. And last but not least, his girlfriend of 20 years, Velma Prosper and her son Craig Latiolais of St. Martinville. The family requests donations to be made to Hospice of Acadiana in Memory of Mr. Alfano 2600 Johnston Street, Suite 200, Lafayette, LA 70503. Preceding Mr. Alfano in death are his parents, Sam Alfano and Effie Mallet Alfano and his brother, Sammy Alfano. Serving as pallbearers Andrew Paul Broussard, Chuck Norman Alfano, Gerald J. Guiberteau, Kirk Leon, Craig Latiolais and Nicholas Alfano. Honorary Pallbearers are Jude Guiberteau and Jake Delhomme. David Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.
