Jeanerette--A Mass of Christian Burial for Linda Ann Guillotte, 55, of New Iberia will be held on Tuesday, June 13, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. in St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Jeanerette. The Reverend Richard Fabre will serve as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. John the Evangelist Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Monday, June 12, 2006 at 5:00 P.M., with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. in David Funeral Home. Visitation will continue all night until service time on Tuesday. Ms. Guillotte passed away on Sunday, June 11, 2006 at 7:25 P.M. in her daughters Jeanerette residence. A native and longtime resident of Jeanerette, Linda was most recently living in New Iberia. She loved to travel, to drive around the countryside, and to visit with friends and family. Linda was a wonderful cook, and she loved to eat good food, especially country food, Chinese food, crawfish, and steak and rice with gravy. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved clowning around with her family and making others laugh. Music was a special joy for Linda, and she was a big fan of Zydeco music and Conway Twitty. Her favorite afternoon pastime was watching The Young and the Restless . Linda was proudest of being strong through eight years of fighting cancer and of seeing her children grow into young adults. She always encouraged others to be strong and to try harder. Survivors include her longtime loving companion, Wayne Segura of New Iberia; sons, Larry Duhon, Jr. and Erick Duhon of Jeanerette; daughters, Tracies Raggette and husband, Keith of Jeanerette, Lisa Morales and husband, Marcelo of New Iberia, Ashley Duhon of Jeanerette, and Nicole Duhon and boyfriend, Joshua Johnson of New Iberia; brothers, Nelson Guillotte and wife, Marjorie of Jeanerette, and Earl Guillotte, Sr. of New Iberia; sisters, Anna Mae Hebert and husband, Gerald, Luna Duhon and husband, E.J., Sr., and Eula Segura and husband, Larry, all of Jeanerette; grandchildren, Larry Duhon, III and Chase Duhon of Ponchatoula, Alaina and Braxton Abshire of Kaplan, Hunter Raggette of Jeanerette, and Milexi Duhon of New Iberia; stepchildren, Michelle Segura of New Iberia, Robert Segura and wife, Mary of Grand Marais, Angela Jack and husband, Ray of Lydia, Anthony Segura and wife, Peaches of Abbeville, and Dawn Segura of New Iberia; and Godchildren, Samantha Derouen and husband, Lynwood and son, Josh of Jeanerette, Zena Segura and companion, Michael Poole and son, Zackary of Jeanerette, Brittani Segura of Lydia, and Earl Guillotte, Jr. and wife Shonnia and children, Tucker, Nathan, Hector, and Caroline of Lake Charles. Preceding Linda in death are her parents, Hector and Louisiana Broussard Guillotte; and brothers,Wilson, Lester and Chester Guillotte. Serving as pallbearers are Lindas children, Larry Duhon, Jr., Erick Duhon, Tracies Raggette, Lisa Morales, Ashley Duhon, and Nicole Duhon. Named as honorary pallbearers are Wayne, Larry, and Derek Segura, Joshua Johnson, E.J. Duhon, Sr. and E.J. Duhon, Jr., Keith Raggette, Nelson Guillotte, Gerald Hebert, and Earl Guillotte, Sr. David Funeral Home of Jeanerette is in charge of arrangements.
