New Iberia"Funeral services for Mrs. F. George Blumenthal, the former Adeline Breaux, 96, of New Iberia will be held on Wednesday, June 7, 2006 at 9:30 A.M. in David Funeral Home Chapel. The Reverend Mr. Jimmy Wilson will officiate. A committal service and entombment will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Wednesday in St. Ann Cemetery, Napoleonville, LA. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 06, 2006 from 5:00 P.M. until 10:00 P.M. in David Funeral Home, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. Visitation will continue on Wednesday from 8:00 A.M. until service time in the funeral home. Mrs. Blumenthal passed away on Monday, June 5, 2006 at 3:35 P.M. in a New Iberia care facility. Affectionately known to all who knew her as Breaux , Mrs. Blumenthal was a native of Napoleonville. She was a graduate of Charity Hospital School of Nursing in New Orleans, and served the people of the New Iberia area as a dedicated and compassionate registered nurse for over sixty years. Mrs. Blumenthal was a member of the Home Demonstration Club, and she was a longtime member of St. Peter Catholic Church. Survivors include a step-daughter, Gretchen Blumenthal Hall of New Iberia; step-grandchildren, Jeff Kimble and wife, Tara, Claud (Scooter) Kimble, George Vincent and wife, Elaine, Craig (Buddy) Kimble and wife, Jeannette, Nina Bowlin, David Kimble, and Angela Drabham and husband, Dorian; niece, Mary Ann Fells of Nederland; and special friends, Roe Ann and Errol J. Delahoussaye of New Iberia. Preceding Mrs. Blumenthal in death are her husband, F. George Blumenthal; parents, Homer and Marianne Robertson Breaux; brother, Ethenne Breaux; sisters, Eulalie Breaux Fells, Lillie Breaux Gentile, Goldie M. Breaux, and Verna Elizabeth Breaux Davis; nephew, G.C. Fells; and step-grandchildren, Gaye Kimble and A.D. Kimble, Jr. Serving as pallbearers are Jon A. Delahoussaye, John W. Goetz, Jeff Kimble, Claud (Scooter) Kimble, George Vincent, and Craig (Buddy) Kimble. Named as honorary pallbearers are Nina Bowlin, David Kimble, Gaye Kimble, Angela Brabham, Dorian Brabham, Billy Gesser, and Ivy Roy. David Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.
