New Iberia"Funeral Services for Mrs Mildred Haggerty Millie Wright, 81, of New Iberia will be held on Monday, June 12, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. in Church of Christ, 677 Charles Street, New Iberia. Mr. Bobby Newsom will officate. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 12, 2006, from 9:00A.M. until service time in Church of Christ. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, June 13, 2006 from 9:00A.M. until 11:00 A.M. in Woodlawn Funeral Home, 1101 Antoine Drive, Houston, TX, with graveside services to be held in Woodlawn Cemetery at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday. Mrs. Wright passed away on Friday, June 9, 2006 at 12:32 A.M. in her residence. Mrs. Wright retired from National Car Rental, where she was office manager for 28 years. She was a member of Womens Traffic Club, Eastern Star, and the Church of Christ. She enjoyed doing needlework and reading. Mrs. Wright was an excellent cook and was a true grandmother to everyone. She was known as the Red Headed Granny, and her final wish is worded as Just remember me as loving you. She is survived by a son, Minister Kenneth W. Wright and wife, LaNita of New Iberia; grandsons, Kenneth W. Wright Jr. and wife Jennifer of Anniston,AL and Tommy Lee Haggerty and wife Lujuana of Conroe, TX; granddaughters, Tammy W. Newsome and husband , Andy of Oxford, AL and Sandy W. Fulton and husband, Staff SGT. Richard of Oceanside, CA; brothers, Loyd Haggerty and wife, Elsie of New Braunfels, TX and Wilbur Haggerty and wife, Kay of Maben, MS; sister , Mrs. Ila Moody of Nacogdoches,TX; great-grandsons, Tripp Wright III, Spencer and Corbin Wright of Anniston, AL, Austin and Houston Fulton of Oceanside, CA, and Jakob and Connor Haggerty of Conroe, TX; great-granddaughters, Mckenna Wright of Anniston, AL, Haley Newsome of Baxley, GA, Taylor and Tristen Bowers and Andy Reagan Newsome of Oxford, AL, Madison Fulton of Oceanside, CA, and Mary Frances Haggerty of Conroe, TX. Mrs. Wright is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death are her parents, John F. and Mary Griffin Haggerty; a son, Robert E. Wright; and a brother, John L. Haggerty. Serving as pallbearers are family and friends of Mrs. Wright. Honorary pallbearers will be Kim Touchet, Gene Thibodeaux, Leo Brandburn, Harold Madely, Walter Skinner and Don Thomas Please make all memorial donations to: The New Iberia Church of Christ In Light of the Word Television Outreach Ministry. David Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of the local arrangements.
