Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 22, 2006 at 10 AM at David Funeral Home Chapel for Samual Sammy Herman Funderburk, 23. Sammy was born in Alexandria, La. on April 20, 1983 and went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 18, 2006 at University Medical Center in Lafayette. The Rev. Steve Younger will conduct the funeral service. Graveside services will be conducted by Rev. B.G. Dyess at 1 PM, Thursday, June 22, 2006 at Alexandria Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Alexandria, Louisiana. He is survived by his father Daniel Danny Funderburk and his wife Michelle of Broussard, Louisiana; his mother Anita Hebert and her husband Ken of Youngsville, Louisiana; his son, Lexington Drake Funderburk of Youngsville, Louisiana; his fiance Jessica Fontenot of Carencro, Louisiana; three brothers, Jason Funderburk of Lafayette, Shaun Funderburk and his wife Jodi of Lafayette, and Aaron Funderburk of Youngsville, and a sister Alexis Funderburk of Broussard. He is also survived by his paternal grand mother Nina Funderburk; his maternal grandfather, Coy Smith and maternal grandmother Eloise Sothers; three nephews and one niece. He is preceded in death by his sister Amanda Funderburk, and his paternal grandfather Herman Funderburk. The family requests that visitation be observed Wednesday, June 21, 2006 from 4 PM till 8 PM and continue Thursday from 8 AM till time of service.
