New Iberia"A Mass of Christian Burial for Vally Joseph Sonny McGinn, Jr., 43, of New Iberia will be celebrated on Friday, June 23, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. in Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. The Reverend Steve LeBlanc will serve as celebrant. Interment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2006 from 5:00 P.M. until 10:00 P.M. in David Funeral Home, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. Visitation will continue on Friday from 8:00 A.M. until service in the funeral home. Mr. McGinn passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2006 at 9:36 P.M. in a Lafayette hospital. A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Sonny was a vessel manager for Hercules Company, where he had worked for over 25 years. He enjoyed bowling, billiards, motorcycle riding, hunting, fishing, gardening, and cooking. Sonny was a devoted family man who was always willing to help anyone in need. He lived life to its fullest and would never turn down a challenge. Sonny was a member of Woodmen of the World and Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Cindy Citrano McGinn of New Iberia; parents, Patricia Landry McGinn and Vally J. McGinn, Sr. of New Iberia; daughter, Virginia M. Bouton and husband, Chase of New Iberia; sons, Blake Joseph McGinn of Lafayette and Chad Migues and wife, Trish of Baldwin; brother, Scotty James McGinn, Sr. and wife, Tammy of New Iberia; sisters, Kathleen McGinn Romero and husband, Rodney of New Iberia; Tammy McGinn Trahan and husband, Donald of Coteau, and Roslyn McGinn Hill of Broussard; grandchildren, Breighton and Nanci Pellerin of New Iberia, Hunter Clair Bouton of New Iberia, Taylor Rene McGinn of Lafayette, Taylor and Chad (C.J.) Migues, Jr. of Baldwin; and Corey and Caron Sweat of Youngsville; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Preceding Sonny in death is a daughter, Rachel Migues. Serving as pallbearers are Scotty James McGinn, Sr., Blake Joseph McGinn, Chad Migues, Chandler Robinson, Tony Gary, Glenn Seguie, and Joel Romero. Named as honorary pallbearers are Scotty Rochon, Grant Guillotte, Chase Bouton, Sidney Menard, and Aron Romero. David Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.
