Beloved husband, father and grandfather

LOREAUVILLE " Services for Lloyd Arthur Berard, 87, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, July 10, 2006 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Jude Halphen officiating. Interment will follow in All Saints Mausoleum.

Visiting hours will be observed Sunday, July 9, 2006 from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary being recited at 7 p.m. by Deacon Chris Doumit at David Funeral Home. Visitation will resume Monday, July 10, 2006 at 8 a.m. until the time of service.

A native and resident of Loreauville, Mr. Berard died at 3:12 a.m. Saturday, July 8, 2006, at Iberia Medical Center.

Mr. Berard was a member of Knights of Columbus. He was a veteran of the Army Air Force during World War II.

He is survived by his wife, Nita Bourque Berard of Loreauville; two daughters, Duane Latiolais of Lafayette, and Phyllis Savoy and friend Al Broussard Jr. of Loreauville; five sons, Danny Berard and wife Myrna of New Iberia, Peter Berard and wife Peggy of Houston, Charlie Berard and wife Rhealeen of Loreauville, Alvin Berard and wife Colleen of Cecilia, and Stephen Berard and wife Joan of New Iberia; 12 grandchildren, Monica L. Ardoin, Beth L. Deshautelle, Ryan Savoy, Terrell Savoy, Joshua Perkins, Brooke, Brennon, Chris, Jacob, Ashley and Eli Berard; six great-grandchildren, Tyler Ardoin, Nicholas Ardoin, Joseph Deshautelle, Cade Savoy, Evan Savoy and Zoe Berard; a sister, Felicie Sister Vuillennot of Houston; two brothers, Charles Fernest Berard Jr. of New Iberia, and Albert Berard of Texas; a sister-in-law, Mary Mae Menard of Milton; a brother-in-law, Luke Bourque Jr. of Maurice; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Berard was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Fernest Berard Sr. and Felicie LeBlanc Berard; two grandchildren, Amy Suzanne Latiolais and Brad Charles Berard; five sisters, Regina Decuir, Lucy Gabbert, Nita Childress, Larry Judice and Connie Prioux; and three brothers, A.A. Tony Berard, Sully Berard Sr. and Burton Berard.

Pallbearers will be Ryan Savoy, Terrell Savoy, Joshua Perkins, Brennon, Chris, Ben and Jacob Berard.

David Funeral Home of Loreauville is in charge of the arrangements.
