Erath " A Mass of Christian Burial for Joey Patrick Toups, 32, will be held at 1:00PM on Thursday, August 27, 2009 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Fr. Paul Broussard officiating. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Erath on Wednesday, August 26, 2009 from 4:00PM until 10:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 6:00PM. Visitation will resume on Thursday, August 27, 2009 from 8:00AM until the time of the services. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery. A native and resident Erath Joey died at 6:35PM on Monday, August 24, 2009 at a Lafayette Hospital. He enjoyed being with friends and having a good time. He is survived by two sons. Spencer Toups of Parks and Landon Toups of Erath; three brothers, John David Toups of Houma, Louis Toups, Jr. and his wife Stacy of Houma, and Marty Charles Toups and his wife Jenny of Erath; a sister, Marla Dugas of Welsh; three nieces; and 6 nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Louis Toups, Sr. and Marlene Martinez Toups; maternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Charley Martinez and his paternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Eustis Toups. Serving as pallbearers will be John Toups, Louis Toups, Jr., Marty Toups, Tyler Toups, Ricky Laviolette, and Trevor Toups. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Alec and Austin Toups.
