Lafayette - Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Thursday, August 27, 2009 at David Funeral Home Chapel for Bilbo Lewis, 93, who went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 24, 2009. Rev. Perry Sanders will conduct services.Visitation will be Thursday, August 27, 2009 from 9:00AM until services. Interment will be at Mobile Memorial Gardens, Friday, August 28, 2009 at 2:00PM. Mr. Lewis was born on April 30, 1916 in Laurel, MS. He lived in Mobile, AL for over 50 years and retired from the A&P Grocery Co.He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII. He was a charter member of Sage Ave Baptist Church in Mobile, and had lived the last 5 1/2 years in Lafayette, LA where he was a member of First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Martha Jane Hearn Lewis. Survivors include one brother, Levern Lewis and wife Helen of Lafayette; one sister-in-law, Mallory Hearn Highfill of Baton Rouge, LA and several nieces and nephews.
