Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 3, 2006 at 3:00 pm in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Erath for Judy Ann Suire Melancon, 60. Judy was born in Abbeville on July 2, 1946 and went to be with the Lord on Sunday October 1, 2006 at 10:35 am at her residence in Erath. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Erath.

Father Wayne Duet will conduct the funeral mass Tuesday with burial to follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Church Cemetery.

She is survived by her mother, Edith Champagne Suire of Erath, La.; three sons, Mark Melancon , and wife Wanda Dugas; David Melancon, and wife Angela Morvant, all off Erath, La.; Troy Melancon, and wife Tonya Trahan, of Kaplan, La.; one daughter, Angela O'Quinn,and husband, John of Erath,La.; two sisters, Rolena LeBlanc of Erath, La.; and Diana Hicks, of Delcambre, La. She is also survived by 16 grand children, and 2 great-grand children.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Nolti Melancon, her father Majay Suire, and one brother Johnny Suire.

Serving as pallbearers will be Mark Melancon, Chad Melancon, Troy Melancon, David Melancon, Clint Melancon, and Terry Schexnider.

The family requests that visitation be held on Monday, October 2, 2006 from 3:00 pm until 10:00 pm, with a rosary prayed at 7:00 pm. Visitation will resume at 8:00 am Tuesday October 3, 2006 until service time.
