LOVING MOTHER, GRANDMOTHER, AND GREAT-GRANDMOTHER
New Iberia"A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Rilius Louis Duplantis, the former Nadine Boutte, 94, will be celebrated on Thursday, October 19, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. in David Funeral Home Chapel. The Reverend Steve LeBlanc will serve as celebrant. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2006 from 11:00 A.M. until service time in David Funeral Home, with a rosary to be recited at 1:00 P.M.
A native of Charenton, and a longtime New Iberia and Loreauville resident, Mrs. Duplantis passed away on Monday, October 16, 2006 at 11:40 P.M. in a New Iberia hospital.
Mrs. Duplantis was a homemaker and private sitter for the elderly. She loved nature and was an avid gardener, spending many hours keeping her yard looking nice. Mrs. Duplantis was a wonderful cook who enjoyed feeding friends and family. She was an active participant in her childrens lives, giving her time as a leader in Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, P.T.A., and as a catechism teacher. While living in New Iberia, Mrs. Duplantis was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, later attending St. Joseph Catholic Church when she moved to Loreauville. She most recently lived in Sacred Heart Catholic Church Parish.
Survivors include a son, Aaron Minos Duplantis of New Iberia; daughter, Karma Dean Duplantis Champagne and husband, Forrest Jack of Jeanerette; sister, May Bernard of Lafayette; brothers, Lester Boutte and wife, Elda of Lydia and Wilson Boutte and wife, Irene of Abbeville; grandchildren, Ronnie Duplantis and wife, Julie of Duson, Stacie Duplantis Doucet and husband, Mark of Crowley, Shannon Duplantis and wife, Michelle of Rayne, and Laurie Champagne Outlaw and husband, Kit of Mobile, AL; and great-grandchildren, Cole, Britni, Chase, Trace, and Toye Duplantis, Hunter, Haven, Hannah, Hailey, and Harley Doucet, and Caroline Outlaw.
Preceding Mrs. Duplantis in death are her husband, Rilius Louis Duplantis; parents, Rudson and Louise Sinitiere Boutte; sisters, Eunice Bridges, Pearl Gilbeaux, Lillie Terrel, Madeline Lanza, and Louella Black; and brothers, Norman and Alvin Boutte.
Serving as pallbearers are Aaron, Ronnie, Shannon, Trace, and Cole Duplantis, and Forrest Jack Champagne. Named as honorary pallbearers are Harley, Hunter, and Haven Doucet, and Chase Duplantis.
David Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.
