LOVING HUSBAND, FATHER, AND SON
New Iberia"A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Stephen Adam Dartez, 53, of New Iberia will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 5, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. in Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church. The Reverend Mike Arnaud will serve as celebrant. Entombment will follow in Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Mausoleum.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 4, 2006 from 4:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. in David Funeral Home, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. Visitation will continue on Tuesday from 8:00 A.M. until service time in the funeral home.
Mr. Dartez passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2006 at 10:11 A.M. in his New Iberia residence.
A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Mr. Dartez was a member of Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church. He was an employee of Louisiana Safety Systems, where he spent his career in the business development field. Mr. Dartez was a past member of Optimist Club of New Iberia. He enjoyed a good game of golf, shooting sporting clays, and was an excellent cook who loved to share a good time with his friends and family. Mr. Dartez loved life and he loved his family.
Survivors include his wife, Amelie Duplantis Dartez of New Iberia; son, Zachary Stephen Dartez of New Iberia; daughter, Stephanie Frances Dartez of New Iberia; parents, Gustin and Florella Flo Breaux Dartez of New Iberia; sisters, Tonya Dartez Khosropour and husband, Farzin of New Iberia and Linda Dartez Vanderbrook of Oregon; brothers-in-law, David Duplantis and wife, Mary Ellen of New Iberia, Billy Duplantis and wife, Patsy of New Iberia, and Roland Romero and wife, Mary Ellen of New Iberia; nephews, Tyson, Bradley, Brian, and David J. Duplantis, Jason, Gregory, and Elliot Romero, Matthew Khosropour, Dr. Scott Young and wife, Nikki, and Dr. John Young and wife, Kalen; and nieces, Leah and Aimee Duplantis, Meghan Romero, and Tadj Khosropour.
Preceding Mr. Dartez in death is his brother, Brian Dartez; and father- and mother-in-law, Wilbert and Frances Duplantis.
Serving as pallbearers are David Duplantis, Roland Romero, Brooks Bernard, John Cogar, Bernie Gould, and Farzin Khosropour. Named as honorary pallbearers are James Cole, Billy Duplantis, Kirk Boudreaux, Lawrence Bergeron,and Jerry Courville.
The family has requested that memorial donations be made to Catholic High School of New Iberia.
David Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.
