Erath- Funeral services will be held Monday, October 2, 2006 at 10 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Erath for Russell Paul Simon, 72. Russell was born in Erath, Louisiana on May 14, 1934 and went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 29, 2006 at Abbeville General Hospital. He dedicated his life to teaching French and Spanish. The Rev. Wayne Duet will conduct the funeral service with the burial to follow the funeral in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church Cemetery in Erath. He is survived by his mother Eugenia NeNe Broussard Simon of Erath; a brother, Donald Simon and his wife Margie of Erath; two nieces Debra Richard and her husband Benny of Erath, and Donna Brumfield and her husband Marshall Keith of Lawton, Oklahoma; three great nieces, Brandy Richard and Brittany Richard, both of Erath, LA, and Gina Brumfield of Lawton, OK; one great nephew, Benjie Richard of Erath. He is preceded in death by his father, Lawless Connall Simon, and several uncles and aunts. The family requests that visitation be observed Sunday, October 1, 2006 from 4 PM till 9 PM and reopen Monday morning from 8 AM till time of service. A rosary will be prayed Sunday evening at 7 PM. David Funeral Home of Erath is in charge of arrangements.
